Merry Christmas!

So, because work is slow today, I revamped the blog a bit. Changed the title. Changed the about me. Changed the about Lisa. Added tabs with a bunch of the blogs I browse.

I have decided I will be simplifying my life next year. I want to have a place I can keep the blogs because I'm going to clean a big majority of them out of my google reader. What better place than this blog.
(If you have a personal blog I kept if off and will keep those in my reader. Those are to keep in touch "the know" with people anyway.)

If you're a blurker,* let me know what you think, or suggest a blog I might add to the lists.

* blog + lurker = blurker

I really love this painting.

I think despite all the wild colors its probably kind of calming.
Maybe that's because I'm from Oregon and I like rain...

I think we should do paper chains as normal, every day house hold decoration.
I also think they should be as cool as this:

I never thought to make the little loops different sizes before!
I love the way it looks.

We could have a winter party and have all decorations be made of paper,
snow flake, cute paper chains...
I'm thinking its a fabulous idea.

Dear Lisa,

I've decided you and Michelle should make bags like this at Christmas.

You quilt and sew.
Michelle embroiders.
(I'm sure she probably sews too.)

And then you guys can be like Anthropologie
and sell them at $200 a pop!

But maybe I could get one at cost since I was your inspiration and all?

Sincerely,
Lauren

Steve McCurry is a photojournalist
famous for his portrait of the Afghan Girl.

I follow his blog because he has gorgeous,
yet sometimes disturbing images of the world

I thought today's post was cool
because it shows the contrast between situations.

But last week's was probably my favorite post he has done.
It was pictures of friends.

Here are my favorites from that post.

Rice Krispie
Homemade marshmallow
Homemade caramel
All in chocolate?

Sounds like heaven.

I think I need one.

In order to keep myself humble
and not wish for a large and sparkling diamond someday,
I've decided to search for pretty and unique gold bands.
I posted this one a few months ago:

from Bario Neal

Today I found...

...this Laurel Leaf Ring
From Turtle Dove Co

...these stacked rings in different metals.
Etsy shop A Second Time
...this infinity ring.
Etsy Shop Sea Babe Jewelry
...and these stackable rings.
I'm kind of into the stackable ones.
Etsy Shop Kate Szabone

Just don't browse Tiffany when looking for plain bands.
You'll find things a whole lot prettier and sparklier to distract.

You know I read the wedding blogs.
And sometimes I feel like its a little weird.
Actually, most of the time I think its kind of weird.
But they're SO PRETTY!

And Once Wed is one of the best.
And today they featured a family photo shoot
of a couple whose engagements and wedding were featured on the blog.

Here are some really cute photos:

And I mostly put them on because I knew
Lisa would love the purple socks.

Please go to Once Wed to look at the rest of the pictures.
They're so pretty!

I want to buy every single one of these posters.
They are all made using the text of the story they represent.

If I could, these are the ones I would buy.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer

The Great Gatsby

Moby Dick

Pride and Prejudice

Peter Pan

And the more I look the more I'm positive I need at least three.

These might be one of the coolest things I've seen.
String Chandeliers and a DIY guide to go along.

If I ever get married I think I'm going to have a DIY hayday.
Well, actually, I'll let someone else have a DIY hayday.
I'll be at the gym.

This is a pretty hilarious font by an artist named Mimi Traillette.

It's from the Design Sponge design your own alphabet contest.
Pretty hilarious though right?

I saw this posted over on Oh Happy Day and thought it was really cute.
And I wish I had the style/ guts to post my daily outfits on the internet.

Alas, my daily outfits consist of cardigans, button up shirts, work-type skirts, maybe tights and flats.
Not really that exciting.
Maybe if I'm lucky I'll wear a necklace. Ooooh!

Since I'm posting lots of baking things I should mix it up with a soup.
I love butternut squash.
I love butternut squash soups.
My favorites I've made have had apples in them, or one that had parsnips.

So, I'm excited to try this Savory Butternut Squash soup recipe.

And since I know the blog owner to have impeccable cooking skills and taste, I know this will be delicious.

Oh My!
Thanks to CJane, I might have a new baking addiction.

Pie.

I'll be following the Pie Love You blog.

And a few on the list to make are:

I'm pretty excited about it.
Post-Thankgiving Pie Party maybe?

If I wanted a sugar attack I think I'd make these:

Oh my. Those look delicious.
I love Nutella.
I love marshmallows.
I love pie crust.

Mmmm.

There is pie crust in my fridge...

I know Kylie in a round about way.
She is friends with Carly.
She was roommates (is roommates?) with Mandi.
I ran into her at the Coldplay concert in Salt Lake two years ago.
I'm pretty sure we're almost friends.
Almost.

Besides, I like her pictures.

And I think these girls are all so cute an stylish I wish I dressed like them.

Look at all the pretty pictures on Kylie Nixon's blog.

This is gorgeous hair!

Why wasn't I born with hair like that?
Not necessarily the color, though pretty, more like the texture.

And I like how she looks like she's holding a wand in the last picture.

On Monday night I bought the latest People Magazine.
Mostly because it had Prince William and Kate on the cover.

But once read I saw an article for The Help movie.
I didn't know they were making a move of that book!
Exciting.

Check out Emma Stone as Miss Skeeter:

And, check out the rest of the pictures on IMDB's site for The Help.

The pictures look great, and it makes me excited for the movie!
